What The F*** Are United Up To?

Not satisfied with driving away one of the best midfielders of all time, in Roy Keane, United now seem to be doing the same with Ruud.

From the BBC:

Ruud van Nistelrooy's Manchester United future is in doubt after he drove away from Old Trafford three hours before the final match against Charlton.
A club statement said: "We can confirm Ruud van Nistelrooy has gone home."
He was at Old Trafford on Sunday morning and is understood to have been fully fit and expecting to play.
Van Nistelrooy, 29, has spent much of the final third of the season on the bench and this latest omission puts his United future in doubt.

What Type of Doctor are You?

This picture appeared in the December 24th issue of the BMJ. It makes me worry a bit about my chosen direction of Emergency Medicine Phsyician.

It was submited to the Journal by Boris Veysman, resident, Yale School of Medicine.

His includes the following:
As a resident physician working in a large academic medical centre, I am in frequent contact with medical students, many of whom feel apprehensive about choosing their future medical specialty. Students complain that they need balanced career guidance extending beyond "my specialty is the best" expressed by many doctors. Inspired by my interactions with residents training in all major specialties, I have created an algorithm to guide students' choice of specialty on the basis of their personality characteristics. The algorithm has been well received at my institution by students and residents alike, many of whom exclaim: "That is so true."

The Offside Rule For Girlie Girls

You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop
assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which
you must have.

The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them
with desire.

Both of you have forgotten your purses.

It would be totally rude to push in front of the first woman if you had
no money to pay for the shoes.

The shop assistant remains at the till waiting.

Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop
and sees your dilemma.

She prepares to throw her purse to you.

If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other
shopper and buy the shoes.

At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and,
*whilst it is in flight* you could nip around the other shopper, catch
the purse and buy the shoes.

Always remembering that until the purse has *actually been thrown* it
would be plain wrong to be forward of the other shopper.

I got my hands on an X-Box 360

I finally got my hands on an X-Box 360 yesterday. They can't be got for love nor money and I had spent the last week pestering the workers in Game, Gamespot and Smyths in Limerick, asking them had they any available.
I was in Cork yesterday and was delighted to see a sign in Game saying "Back In Stock". When I went i to check though they had apology signs on the boxes explaining the unavailability of the console.
I went up to the desk to complain about the misleading sign outside. However I asked about the availability first and they happened to have two. So, I got one and the person in front of me got the other. I bought Kameo, PGR3 and Call of Duty 2.
Got to try it out last night and the games look great initially. Looking forward to getting stuck into it properly in the new year.
